Research and use of C++ for mathematical projects

CLC’s team, led by Mr. George Pneumaticos, BSc Electrical and Computer Engineering National Technical University of Athens, mentored and supervised our students Gerasimos Stamou,  Karan Virk and Nikolaos Vytogiannis, to carry out a research project on C++ programming language and its use for mathematical projects.

This report examines C++’s development and its role in mathematical problem-solving. Created by Bjarne Stroustrup at Bell Labs in 1979, C++ was designed to improve the C language by combining modern programming features with C’s speed. Its versatility allows it to be used across various applications, including mathematical computing. C++ is known for its efficiency, making it ideal for solving complex mathematical problems. This report will explore why C++ is so effective for these tasks, discuss its strengths and limitations, and include a sample C++ program.
